We will be having more active fund raisers to raise funds to help more children in need.
All clients who need help MUST sign up for the monthly newsletter if signing up for help from Kids Defense Team. This will allow the clients to learn throughout the year what we will have available to you the client.
We need volunteers and donations. Keep your donations coming. The economic crisis is still out there. There is still families who need help.
We have our year round adopt a family program.
In our local area you can donate clothing, school supplies, toys and we will deliver to a family in our database. And then the family will write a note to you and we will mail it to you via postal service. We do this to protect everyone’s name. We never give out personal information for confidentiality reasons.
Because of the high cost of shipping. A family that is not in our local delivery area we ask that you send gift cards. We match you with a family that is from your state and then you send the gift cards to Kids Defense Team and we send the gift cards to the family. Because of confidentiality reasons we never give out personal information. That is why we have to do everything this way. If you want to check on the gift card to make sure it is being spent in your state, you can track the gift card by checking online. We usually ask for Walmart gift cards because every state has a Walmart.
Kids Defense Team is looking for grants in Maryland or Delaware. Kids Defense Team is Incorporated in both states.
We would eventually like to get a grant to open up a transitional housing unit to help families who are in between stable housing.
Kids Defense Team would like to have a building donated to us to put our inventory into. If anyone knows of a building that is not in use that could be used for inventory and a office please let Kids Defense Team know. This could be a tax write off since we are a non profit organization.
